Update on Bad Bunny’s WWE Status After Calls for AEW to Sign Him
Bryan Alvarez expects Bad Bunny to return to WWE soon, despite recent calls for AEW to sign the recording star.
During a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Live, Alvarez discussed Bad Bunny's potential return to WWE with Lance Storm. Alvarez noted that U.S. Senator Ruben Gallego has been advocating for AEW to sign Bad Bunny, but he believes the wrestler will eventually return to WWE.
"He’s tweeting for Tony Khan to bring in Bad Bunny," Alvarez said about Gallego. "And is apparently unaware that Bad Bunny has wrestled quite a bit."
Alvarez emphasized, "Bad Bunny is going to end up back in WWE very soon. Sooner rather than later, everybody, just so you all know."
Gallego's comments followed an anti-ICE chant at an AEW event, where Bad Bunny has previously spoken out against the U.S. government's immigration enforcement agency. During the Grammy Awards, he stated, "ICE out. We are not savages, we are not animals, we are not aliens. We are humans and we are Americans."
The Wrestling Observer Live episode is available for free, and the video includes Alvarez's comments about Bad Bunny's future in WWE.
@TonyKhan, it's time for @AEW to solidify a huge fan base. @sanbenito love wrestling, need him to make some appearances. Just no stretcher match please. - Ruben Gallego, February 6, 2026
The world champion isn’t surprised. He’s better than you and you know it. Watch @AEW Wednesday night on TBS and streaming on HBOMAX. And watch AEW on Saturday nights on TNT and streaming on HBOMAX. - Maxwell Jacob Friedman, February 5, 2026
