The Maple Leafs fought back in the second period. John Tavares got them on the board just 13 seconds into the period, followed by Pavel Dorofeyev extending the Golden Knights' lead to 3-1 at 3:32. Braeden Bowman then pushed the lead to 4-1 at 5:16.
But the Maple Leafs weren't done yet! Scott Laughton brought them within two at 4-2 with a breakaway goal at 10:04, and Bobby McMann narrowed the gap further to 4-3 at 18:19.
In the third period, Mark Stone scored his 250th NHL goal at 15:11, restoring the two-goal cushion for the Golden Knights. He then sealed the victory with an empty-net goal with just 59 seconds left, marking his 20th goal of the season and bringing the final score to 6-3.
